Write English at your next level, one skill at a time.
BetterWrite is an English writing coach for learners going from B1 to B2, or from B2 to C1. You write, your coach points at your own words and asks the right question, and you fix them yourself. Every word stays yours.
You start with one sentence. Later come paragraphs and a short essay.

Three rules the coach keeps
BetterWrite is not a rewriting tool. The point is that you can write it yourself.
You always write first
The coach never writes your text for you. You see a stronger version of it only after you have tried.
No points, no streaks
Only “Meets” your level or “Not yet”, with the words from your text that show it.
Proof, not luck
A skill counts when you pass it on two different days. Your mistakes come back until they are gone.
Questions, answered
What learners ask before they start.
What is BetterWrite?
BetterWrite is an English writing coach for learners who want to go from B1 to B2, or from B2 to C1. Each day you write a short task for one skill. The coach checks it, points at your own words and asks a question, and you fix the text yourself.
Does BetterWrite write my text for me?
No. You always write first. The coach never writes your text for you. You see a stronger version of your own writing only after you have tried.
Which English levels does it cover?
Two ladders: B1 to B2 with 19 skills, and B2 to C1 with 21 skills. Each ladder has 5 stages, from one sentence to a linked paragraph and a short essay, and ends with a level check essay.
How do I know I am improving?
A skill counts only when you pass it on two different days. After a pass, “Then and now” puts an old sentence of yours next to the one you wrote today, so you see your progress in your own words.
How long does a day take?
The coach makes a short list for each day from your own mistakes, words and skills. A warm-up takes about 2 minutes and today’s skill about 10 minutes. You do one thing at a time.
